Judd & Cary are both artists who had a vision. After purchasing the old Goodman Store in Timber Ridge, VA that came with an old 4-stall horse barn, they got to work. First, they began taking walls down, then putting wood floors in and framing the barn. With help from local craftsmen, they have transformed this rustic space into a conditioned workshop where they teach ceramics and other art workshops in addition to having their own artist studio space.

🦙RIDGE VALLEY ALPACAS, LLC welcomes you to visit our farm in the southern Shenandoah Valley. The farm is located on a hillside between the Blue Ridge and the Allegheny mountains, 2 1/2 miles West off exit 200 on Interstate 81/64. We are centrally located about an hour from Roanoke, Charlottesville and Harrisonburg, Virginia. At an altitude of almost 1,900 feet, we have beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and the rolling valleys.

❤️We are a family owned and operated farm and we started with our first four alpacas in 2010. Currently, we have a herd of approximately 40 alpacas. Our goal is to breed alpacas that have fine, uniform, and dense fleeces that exhibit a beautiful handle and consistency. We have built our herd with award winning females and males from experienced breeders throughout the country.

💪Our commitment to the alpaca industry is to operate our business professionally and ethically and to actively promote the combination of high quality breeding and fiber product development. Breeding decisions are based on defined fleece improvement goals coupled with an honest assessment of genetic strengths and weaknesses of each animal in the herd.

🐮At Mountain View Farm we believe that sunshine, good soil, and happy cows make for delicious farmstead cheeses. Our beautiful 250-acre dairy farm currently houses around 200 cows (Jersey, Holstein, and cross-bred) which we milk twice daily. We are a year-round farming operation. Our cows are out on pasture-rotationally grazed and receive non-GMO feeds.

🧀We craft raw milk, artisan cheeses that are aged 60 days as well as fresh, pasteurized products.

Many of the businesses will be open on Friday and some on Sunday afternoon.

So if you want to take your time at the stops we suggest you s-t-r-e-t-c-h i-t o-u-t to 2-3 days.
